Customer Segment (Kundensegment)
Overview
Customer segments are specific groups of customers that are similar to each other. They may have the same hobbies, same habbits, same needs or same issues. While a product may have a large target audience, the product may focus itself towards a special customer segment.
Examples
While musical instruments do have a wide band of potential customers and thus a large target audience, they focus themselfs towards persons that are already familiar with the product (the instrument). Often times, if an instrument is bought, it doesn't come with any sort of documentation on how to play the instrument.
